Patch Improvements The patch for Grand Theft Auto IV fixes many glitches and bugs experienced in the standard game made for PC. The patch itself is only 32 megabytes, but it still manages to correct a number of problems related to graphics, gameplay and replay techniques. While the simple Grand Theft Auto IV patch is not extensive, those who play the game regularly will appreciate the improved effects. Graphical improvements include the effects of mirrors and shadows as well as a glitch causing trees to become transparent. The patch also improves another bug that caused the game to slow down when approaching water. It corrects a problem that prevented rendered videos from being uploaded to Social Club when certain music tracks were attached. For Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, the patch allows a "detonate" option in custom key mapping, giving users the opportunity to remap the down arrow key. Control your Driver

Double Driver is an excellent free driver backup app that's seriously easy to use.

Drivers are pretty boring, but backups are really important. If you ever need to reinstall Windows, you'll have to manually find and install all the missing drivers that make your hardware work - unless you use an app like Double Driver to back them up before that happens.

Double Driver is a great app - it's free, portable and, most importantly, efficient. When you open it up, hit Backup. You can then choose to scan your current system or an alternative location. Once you've scanned, Double Driver will have automatically selected non-Microsoft drivers (the ones that will be missing if you need to reinstall your system). You can obviously change this if you want to.

Once you've chosen the drivers, you can then back them up to a standard folder, .ZIP file or .EXE. If you ever need to restore your drivers, open up Double Driver and click Restore. You can then choose the backed up file and load it, restoring your drivers. Just remember that if you do reinstall Windows, keep a copy of the driver backup somewhere safe!

If there is any complaint, it's that Double Driver has no help, but as drivers are a fairly easy area to deal with this shouldn't cause you any problems.

For simple driver back-ups, you can't find any better than Double Driver.

How virtual reality could change moviegoing

"Jump!" you're told again.

It's actually a harmless request, since this is virtual reality. Instead of a cliff's edge you're standing on a carpeted floor in a lounge at the Sundance Film Festival and you've been watching "The Climb," a brief film made by 8i, a startup that creates virtual reality, or VR, content.

"Your logical side is saying, 'I'm in a headset. I'm in this room.' But your emotional side is saying, 'I'm on a cliff. I could die here. I don't want to jump,'" said 8i co-founder and CEO Linc Gasking.

Virtual reality, the emerging technology that is poised to transform video gaming, is also coming to the movies. Here at Sundance 2016, more VR experiences than ever are being showcased as part of the film festival's New Frontier program, which celebrates new or alternative forms of creative expression.

Ramzi Haidamus, president of Nokia Technologies, says the development of VR for filmmakers has been a long time in the works. He recently spearheaded OZO, the first virtual-reality camera designed specifically for Hollywood-grade filmmakers. Haidamus has been experimenting with virtual reality for years and says the technology is making huge strides.

"I couldn't jump," Haidamus said after trying out "The Climb." He credits audiences' hunger to be closely connected to stories and VR's appealing price point as being a "perfect storm" for the technology this year.
